25 Years Of Playing Bass Guitar!

On this day 25 years ago I started playing bass guitar. It was October 7, 1984. I was 16. The total price tag for the bass was $200. I paid $100 and my dad paid $100. I was a little nervous because I had never owned a musical instrument before and to be honest I'm not sure why I started with bass. I think I wanted to start on bass because I loved the thick sound I heard on most records I owned at the time...and my hands were big so I would have no problem dealing with a thick neck and strings. After 25 years I can honestly say I am still in love with bass guitar. I'm still learning...and there are so many more things I want to learn. My other name for bass guitar is "Four String Righteousness."

I want to mention that original bass is alive and well in its case, behind the Moog, under the desk on which I type.

actually, the Fender Precision Bass that you currently own was my second bass behind the Odessa P-Bass copy from 1984. the Fender bass that you own has over 20 years of blood, sweat and tears in it...i learned on that bass.
