For those of you who may be wondering, I have not forgotten about you. I apologize for appearing to be lazy with my blog entries. The fact of the matter is that I have been sick since Wednesday May 21, 2009. It started with a cough at 10:30 pm while I was having band practice. From there my symptoms got worse and I started missing work. For the first time in my career, I missed three consecutive days of work due to illness. It was not pretty. The first three days were the toughest because I suffered with intense headaches and I was unable to achieve any kind of relief. I couldn't clear the pressure in my head. After the headaches ended the intense body weakness started. To make matters worse I had to DJ a wedding during the heighth of my illness. I was hired for $600 to DJ the wedding at least three months prior to my untimely illness so getting out of it was not an option. I'm sure some people thought I was fine since I was able to DJ a wedding while being sick. Well, those people were wrong. I felt miserable. To be honest with you, I would have DJ'ed that wedding in a body bag if I had to. I was hired to DJ a wedding - the biggest day of a girl's life. I was hired months before I came down with this horrible illness. What was I going to do? Was I supposed to call her and tell her I was sick so I couldn't DJ her biggest day? Give me a break. Sometimes we have to do things we don't want to do - even if we are sick. I'm starting to think that I may have been affected by Swine Flu. When the story of Swine Flu broke in the news my dad and I were in Queens (NYC) just starting our 2009 baseball trip. In the United States, Swine Flu was first discovered at a prep school in Queens. My dad and I stayed in Queens from April 28 to May 2, 2009. We were taking the subway (the 7 line) in and out of Queens every night. I have never been sick like this before...I'm just guessing what may have happened. I haven't been to a doctor so I really have no idea if I have / had the H1N1 (Swine Flu) virus. The good news is that I am feeling about 95% at this point. The real problem with being sick since May 21 has been dehydration. I haven't been drinking liquids like I normally do and my body is starting to react. Walking up with a completely dry mouth is scary. I have been drinking water like crazy to reprogram my body into normal hydration. I hope none of you catch this nightmare. Monday, June 8, 2009

I'm glad you are better! Anna
Jon--
Your attitude is amazing. I hope you know that.
Glad you're feeling mostly better. You've been missed. Keep drinking the fluids and give it time. It takes a couple of weeks to recover from something that big.
All the best to you!
