2012: New Year And New Attitude

It is 2012. It's a new year and a new attitude.

THIS YEAR FEELS DIFFERENT. This year feels raw. This year feels intense. This year feels fun. This year feels like I'm going to move fast. This year feels like I'm going to go wild.

I am going to confront people. I am going to confront people who I feel aren't pulling their weight. I am going to confront people who I feel are being lazy. I am going to confront people who are trying to pull me down. I am going to confront people who tell me what to do. Basically, I'm going to be all over YOU this year.

I am going to test myself this year. I'm going to test myself mentally. I am going to test myself physically. I am going to push myself to the absolute limit in all possible ways. I'm not going to slow down. Get out of my way.

I am going to play music. I'm going to play a lot of music. I am going to play so much music that my hands bleed. I am going to finally start recording a collection of songs playing all of the instruments. I have been preparing my body and mind. It's going to happen. I was playing my Gibson SG Standard last night (at 12:45 am) before going to bed and the thought came to me, "You can do this. It can happen." The tunes are going to hopefully be heavy, dark and memorable.

I am going to become spiritual Gibraltar this year. I am going to be the person in Alma 48:17. I am going to stand up for the truth and defend everyone else's right to believe what they want. I will embody Thomas Jefferson's quote, "I swear upon the altar of God, eternal hostility to every form of tyranny over the mind of man." I am going to make the temple my second home this year.

In case you are wondering, these are NOT my goals in 2012. These are things I am going to do and be this year. My 2012 goals will be posted very soon. Stay tuned.

Quote Of The Day

Gravitation cannot be held responsible for people falling in love. How on earth can you explain in terms of chemistry and physics so important a biological phenomenon as first love? Put your hand on a stove for a minute and it seems like an hour. Sit with that special girl for an hour and it seems like a minute. That's relativity. Albert Einstein

DJ Gig Of A Lifetime

Last night I was the DJ for the Huntington Beach Singles Conference. It was the DJ gig of a lifetime because there were over 800 people there and they all danced the ENTIRE night. It was such a fun event. I arrived at the location at 6:00 pm and was ready to go by 7:00 pm. The schedule for the night was 7:00 - 8:00 pm: arrival and registration, 8:00 - 9:00 pm: swing and salsa dance instruction, 9:00 pm - 12:00 am: open dance floor. My sister and her friends arrived (I got them in for free) close to 11:00 pm. I know this sounds superficial but there were so many beautiful girls there last night. I met so many of them...my head was spinning. Usually when I DJ I spend most of the time worrying about my playlist and mood of the event but last night I loosened up a lot and talked to the girls as they approached me to ask for songs, hold their purses, give me hugs, etc. I also met some girls from other countries: Monika Dubovska (Czech Republic - she was the dance instructor), Roxana Sangama (Peru), Shelem Gonzalez (Uruguay) and Eun Yae Ko (South Korea). It was a great night!
